Expansion of the passenger flow system to up to 70 additional stations in Switzerland

Precise measurement at every location

The pedestrian flow system is already operating in Bern, Zurich Hardbrücke, Basel SBB and Lenzburg stations. The crucial success factor is the use of the most efficient hardware at the right location as well as the intelligent evaluation algorithms of the system. Several factors, such as the incidence of light, the degree of pollution and the density of the flows of people to be measured, play a central role in the achievable measurement quality. The better the measuring device is aligned to the situation, the more accurate it is when analysing the flow of people.

Intelligent detection and planning of future capacities

With the recorded movements of pedestrians, conclusions are drawn about the utilisation of the stations during peak hours. With models and simulations, future conversions can be implemented more efficiently and more simply. This is an important basis for planning stations now so that they will meet future requirements.

Cooperation over many years

The project confirms and supports ASE in the further development of the unique Pedestrian Analytics System. The entire ASE team is pleased to continue the good cooperation with SBB.
