ASE wins the SBB tender and will equip up to 70 additional stations in Switzerland with the Pedestrian Analytics System (PAS). The system provides important key figures on passenger volumes and supports the safe and efficient operation of the station. All data is anonymous and complies with data protection guidelines and also serves as an important basis for the modeling and simulation of future scenarios, thus ensuring needs-based planning of conversions and expansions.
Correct measurement at the right place
The passenger flow system is already in operation at Bern, Zurich Hardbrücke, Basel SBB and Lenzburg stations. The decisive success factor is the use of the most efficient hardware in the right place and the system's intelligent evaluation algorithms. Several factors such as incidence of light, degree of pollution and density of the flows of people to be measured play a key role in the measurement quality that can be achieved. The better the measuring device is aligned to the situation, the more accurately it works when analyzing the flow of people.
Recognize and plan for future capacity requirements
The recorded movements of passers-by are used to draw conclusions about the utilization of the stations during peak hours. Models and simulations can be used to implement future conversions more efficiently and easily. This is an important basis for planning stations now so that they can meet future requirements.
