In June, 2016, ASE equipped the modern Study Environment University Library of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur with a people counting system. This allows the University library in the former Sulzer-Areal to measure how many students are entering and leaving the library at any time and to determine the extent to which its capacity is being utilised. Thanks to the people counting system, the attractiveness of the library can be analysed and records can be made of exactly how and when it is used. This is not the first library that has made use of ASE’s expertise in people counting systems. In January, 2014, the Zurich Central Library (ZB) used one, which it then recommended to the Media and Information Centre MIZ at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).
