SBB and BAV rely on ASE's modern measuring systems

For SBB Infrastructure, the situation at the platform entrances is of great importance for the safety of passengers and for the station itself. During the situation analysis, they realized that they lacked data for dimensioning and checking safety. They therefore decided to carry out a supplementary study to investigate passenger behavior at the platform entrances and exits and at the border to the danger zone.

ASE AG's modern measurement systems provide SBB and BAV with crucial data on pedestrian flows, movement patterns, and platform overloads, thereby improving both safety and operational planning. Pedestrian Flow Analysis

SBB relies on ASE's modern measurement systems. These ensure a reliable data basis with which the existing key figures can be checked by SBB specialists. This allows new correlations and insights to be gained on the following topics:

  • Flow of people at the entrances
  • Movement patterns on the platform
  • Trajectories (walking speed and direction)
  • Density
  • Crossing the safety line
  • Residence times
  • Congestion situations
  • Situation on the track

As an additional advantage, the data obtained can be used as a basis for further important calculations, depending on the current requirements.
