Starting position and mandate

Since 2006, the civil engineering office of Basel-Land (TBA BL) has been planning and reporting on the maintenance of the BSA in the access version of EMS from ASE. However, this will be replaced by SMARTEQ, ASEs new web based solution for the maintenance of the operation and security equipment. ASE was commissioned to plan and conduct the introduction of SMARTEQ in TBA Basel-Land. ASE is responsible for the setup of SMARTEQ and the training of all employees. Additionally, ASE is in charge of the planning and the realization of the complete data migration from the access version to SMARTEQ. Further ASE is responsible for the necessary data cleansing. After introduction and start-up, ASE ensures the reliable operation of SMARTEQ.

Approach

Initially, a URL for the web application was chosen by TBA and duly reserved by ASE which then set up SMARTEQ using a suitable server. The data from the existing data base were restructured in collaboration with the people in charge at TBA BLA and imported into SMARTEQ. The system parameters were set and the order management prepared for operation after all data (BSA, locations, type regulations, contacts, articles, user) were migrated and imported. At the same time, and in consultation with the data migration, three user-specific trainings were conducted, which were broken down into thematic blocks of master data, directories and order management. During a two-week pilot project, employees will be assisted if necessary.

SMARTEQ includes various reports designed to enhance user command of the system
