Real-time data for proactive crowd management at mega events in Bijlmer station Amsterdam

Transport hubs close to event areas face big challenges due to the enormous visitor flows before and after events. In order to operate station Bijlmer (Amsterdam) safely for travelers and staff, NS has introduced a sophisticated crowd control system. Based on the real time data provided by ASE’s Pedestrian Analytics System, NS can control the pedestrian inflows to the station.
