Assuring passenger safety during times of construction at Stuttgart 21 Central Station
Station management at Stuttgart Hbf are committed to active crowd management. Passenger volume rose sharply in the early stages of construction at the station. During this phase, the temporary operating infrastructure in place was not sufficient to ensure safe operation with the passenger volumes observed.
ASE's Crowd Monitor relays data to security personnel regarding crowd concentrations or densities approaching their limits. This enables timely interventions that help avoid stressing resources.
